The world is standing at the precipice of a food security crisis of historic proportions. War-induced supply disruptions and record-high prices for food, fuel and fertilizer could push an estimated 40 million more people into poverty and food insecurity by the end of this year. Worse yet, a catastrophic, four-season drought in the Horn of Africa threatens up to 20 million people in Kenya, Ethiopia and Somalia with hunger.
